The
Arbiter is a web-based online assignment management system.
It enables
us to mange our administrative details more efficiently and gives us
more time to assign and to deal with individual
referees. It gives you realtime visibility of your
assignments and provides summary reports of games you work each
season.
For
referees who don’t have internet access, we will still communicate
by phone and mail.
Arbiter
does not do the assigning -- we do. Arbiter's job is to notify
you that we've picked out some games for you or
that there are changes to your games. You accept or decline
assignments in Arbiter -- or you call us and we
talk.
You
will receive or have received an invitation to sign on to the
system, the Arbiter "welcome" email. The invitation tells you how
to sign on and what to use for your initial password.
You
need to join both the Deplitch group and the Houston
group.
Once
you are in the system, you no longer have to tell us about changes
in phone numbers, emails, etc. You have direct access to your
personal information and can keep it up to date as needed
You
can also keep your availability up to date on a realtime
basis. Arbiter allows you to "block" your
availability by indicating days and times that you are not
available. It also allows
you to "attach" yourself to a team so you can't be assigned when
it's playing.
If you wished to be assigned
by calling us on a week-to-week basis, you need not block
availability at all. You should call us early in the week you
want to be assigned to get the best choice of
games.
Check
out the tutorial at ARBITER TUTORIAL to get an overview
of how it works.
